High Chief Boboye Olubodun Becomes Olukanmu of Ikanmu, Oka-Akoko
It was a celebration galore for the sons and daughters of Ikanmu, Oka, and the entire people of Oka land as one of their sons, High Chief Israel Boboye Olubodun, was recently installed as the Olukanmu of Ikanmu Oka Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government area of Ondo State, by His Royal Majesty, Oba(Dr) Adebori Adeleye, the Olubaka of Oka land.
The installation which took place at the Palace of Olubaka of Oka land was witnessed by distinguished personalities within and outside of the state which includes, Chiefs, sons and daughters of the town, family members, friends, a well-wishers.
In his speech, the Olubaka of Oka land, Oba Adebori Adeleye urged the new High Chief to see his new position as a call to serve his people.
He said, ” I want to urge you to see your new position as a call to serve your people and the entire community.
I want you to use your new position to bring development to the town.
You have been using your connections for the development of the town, but I want you to continue.
Oka Land is a town that God blessed with talented people who have used their position to put the town on the world map.
You must cooperate with the traditional ruler of the town and other chiefs from the community, and work towards the progress of Oka land.
You must be trustworthy in whatever you are doing and have the fears of God at heart as the fair of God is the begging of wisdom”.
In his response, the new Olukanmu of Ikanmu, Oka Akoko, High Chief Israel Boboye Olubodun, thanked the Kabiyesi, Oba Adebori Adeleye, the council chiefs, and members of his family for deeming it fit to be honored the highly exalted title.
He said,” I thanked the Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adebori Adeleye, the Olubaka of Oka land, all the chiefs, and my family members for deeming it fit to be honored with the highly exalted title.
This Chieftaincy title will go a long way in inspiring me to do more for my community.
The Chieftaincy title meant a lot to me since it was coming from the table of a recognized Oba in the state”.
