We Shall Shut Down Radio, TV Station Engage In Propaganda — Niger President
35-year-old President Ibrahim Traore has said that, they will shut down all radio, TV stations and publications that engage in propaganda, that seeks to mislead the people. He stated, “We will shut down radio stations that engage in propaganda, seek to glorify the enemy, and exacerbate the conflict.”
He emphasized that this action isn’t limited to Western radios.
He further explained, “We cannot tolerate these media outlets altering the perception of the conflict through their propaganda, aiming to change our people’s mindset and intensify the conflict.
The issue you have is it’s very easy for France and their NGO’s on the ground to give grants to radio journalists and media to promote democracy by undermining the government and supporting the imperialist position. They are in a very precarious position.
Good move. Rumours of war are more dangerous than war itself. Freedom of opinion and freedom of information are at least as important.
If you want to suppress that information, you are approaching a dictatorship.
Welcome development, westerns are not mean good for us Africans we must cut all the aid they are giving us in order to mining our resources”, he said.
