The Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, on Sunday, led all political appointees from Ogbomoso zone and the five Executive Chairmen from the 5 local government areas in Ogbomosoland on a congratulatory visit to the palace of the newly installed Soun of Ogbomoso, His imperial majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Laoye, Orumogege IIII.
Ogunwuyi, who arrived the palace with the delegation, at about 4:30 p.m said the visit was to congratulate the Royal father on the ascension to the one of the most prestigious thrones in the Yorubaland, and to also inform him of the stakeholders’ consultative and engagement town hall meeting for the 2024 Oyo State budget coming up tomorrow in the zone.
Recall, since the inception of this administration in 2019, town hall meetings have been held in the seven geopolitical zones of the State to get the input of the stakeholders that will be included in the budget. The bottom-to-top linking the top-to-bottom approach has greatly helped in meeting the needs of our people.
“We here to congratulate our Royal father and to wish him a successful reign.”
The monarch, while speaking, appreciates Governor Seyi Makinde for all his people-oriented programmes and also for approving a lifetime appointment for him.
“On behalf of Ogbomoso people, help me greet our Governor as we really appreciate him.”
He equally appreciated Ogunwuyi for all the roles he has been playing in order to make Ogbomsoso great and for representing the town in a positive way.
“You are our pride and you will always be our pride; one thing that I am sure of is that, your political future just started,” Orumogege III asserted.
Oba Olaoye, however, promised the good people of Ogbomosoland that they will be proud of him and being indigenes of the land, maintaining that he didn’t come to the throne to intimidate anyone but to make the land great.
He said he would appreciate a situation where his people will be proud of the land as a result of many positive things, which will start coming up in Ogbomoso.
“We need to help the town and carry our load where it’s most heavier, so we have 25 years developmental plans, which we will pass to our Governor.
“There are many sons and daughters of the land across the globe who are willing to help the town develop more. Our people are ready, we hope the government will help and support us” he added.
