Victory College Old Students Holds AGM And 19th Reunion Programme
The Old Students Association of the Victory College, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State has held its 2023 National Annual General Meeting and 19th Reunion Programme at Pharmacy House, Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
Presenting his report, the National President of the Old Students Association, Omoolofin (Dr) Olusoga Sofolahan Atibioke, said he has recorded tremendous achievements during his tenure as the national president of the Old Students Association.
Omooba Atibioke who goes down memory lane said the journey of the national body of Old students started some years ago. But in the year 2004, some old students agreed that there may have been some pockets of old students coming together to associate with the college, the effort of coming together was not felt as if they were only doing it skeletally.
But since the establishment of the old students in 2004, a lot of achievements have come to the college of which we are all proud today.
He said “In the year 2022, the college celebrated its 75th anniversary and as part of the activities of the event, the election of the new officers into various positions was held. And the current executive took it as one of its first assignments to organize a team-building workshop amongst the executive committee members to review what worked to leverage on, and the way forward.
“At the executive Committee meeting, we came up with a communique with the establishment of strategic management priorities and subcommittee, team contact, induction of the member’s board of trustees, CAC registration of all old students, and energizing the class set structure”.
He said,” The old students of the Victory College have been looking for ways to pull the registration of the national body with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), but they were unable to do it because they did not have any Board of Trustees before the year 2022.
Immediately after the inauguration of the board, one of the 83 set who was based in Abuja as a lawyer assisted in doing the registration with the (CAC).
Today, the Victory College Old Students Association has been registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC). We can be sue and sue “.
Atibioke thanks all the old students for their contributions to the development of the college since they left the college years ago.
He said,” My report will not be complete if I fail to acknowledge and salute the contributions of various sets to the development of the college.
We have ordered the school principal to compile all the lists of projects that we have embarked upon as an individual or class set within the last four years that he has been around as the principal of the college”, he said.

However, the principal of the College, Pastor Adebayo Ajimuda, thanked all the old students of the school for their wonderful contributions to the college.
He said, ” I thanked the president of the old students, members of the NEC, and all the executive members of all sets for all the wonderful things being done to move forward the college.
Your cooperation with me as a key stakeholder has been heartening and motivating.
Your interventions have been felt in the area of infrastructural and human development.
Sets, as well as individuals, have been coming up to embark on projects and to give financial support to mitigate our human capital challenges “.
Ajimuda added that the students of the college have been doing the school proud, by participating in both state and national competitions.
Building their self-confidence and winning laurels despite financial challenges.
He said, the college came first in the 2023 Digital Quiz Competition among all the Public Secondary Schools and first runner-up both in the private and public Secondary schools.
In the area of sports, he said in the last AIONIAN Academic and Sports Festival tagged “Oluyole 2023”, Victory College, Ikare Akoko, won 6 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze in all the key sports they participated in.
Ajimuda solicited support for sponsorship towards the FIESTA.
‘I solicited the support of the Old Students Association for the sponsorship of the FIESTA.
At the last Oba Batimehin Marathon Competition, our college came first and second to the admiration of all.
We are indeed the team to beat in sports and academic competitions in which we participate “, he said.
In his reaction, one of the old students of the college, Mr. Ayodeji Babalola, who is the Director of Studies, Bofoat Model Group of Schools, Ugbe Akoko, rejoiced with the executive, all sets of the old students and management and staff of the college for their support.
He said, if the management and staff of the college did not support the efforts of the old students association, everything would have been in vain.
With their support and cooperation, the college is progressing”.
He called on all sets from the college not to relent in their efforts to ensure that the college maintained her name amongst the AIONIAN in the country.
The annual General meeting was attended by all the executives and all the representatives of sets led by the national president, Omoolofin Olusoga Atibioke.
