Pastor, 3 Others Arrested With Human Skull for Rituals In Ogun
A pastor with the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church, Oyenekan Oluwaseyi, and three other suspects have been arrested in possession of a human skull in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
According to police sources, Oluwaseyi and his accomplices – 30-year-old Ibrahim Agbowewe, 40-year-old Suleiman Ogunbunmi, and 57-year-old Gafari Akinsanya – were apprehended in the early hours of Saturday in the Saje area.
The arrests followed a tip-off from the public about the suspicious activities and movement of the suspects within the neighborhood. Acting on the information, police raided the area and apprehended the four men.
A human skull, a large calabash, a black Toyota Camry vehicle and one live ram were recovered from the suspects and taken into custody as exhibits.
The Ogun State Police spokesman, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests and said the suspects had admitted they intended to use the human skull for rituals and occult purposes to obtain blessings and money.
Oluwaseyi, the pastor among the suspects, is a clergyman at the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church located in the Iyana Iyesi area of Ota. Investigations are still ongoing to establish more facts about the case and the origin of the human skull.
The police reiterated their commitment to clamping down on crimes involving suspected ritual activities and occultism across Ogun State. The suspects are currently being detained as the case progresses.
