Olabimtan: Clerics, Politicians Others Gather in Akungba Akoko To Bid Mrs Eunice Faulat Olorunfemi Farewell
Prominent Christian clerics , Politicians and leaders on Friday 3rd November, 2023 gathered in Akungba Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government, area of Ondo State to bid the mother inlaw of the former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Mrs. Eunice Fauliat Olorunfemi farewell.
The Focus recalls that Mama Eunice Olorunfemi who was fondly called “Iyawo baba no worry ” died this year at the age of 90 years.
Eulogies and calls for her emulation and virtues started to pour in during the wake keep service held at her home on Thursday 2nd November, to 3rd Friday, November, 2023 to the funeral service at St James Anglican Church, Oke- Supare, Akungba Akoko.
The Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese, the Rt Rev’d J. O. B Bada in his sermon, described death as the path to heaven.
Bada, while advising Christians to move closer to God, noted that everything acquired in life will become vanity one day.
He described the late Mrs Olorunfemi as a woman who used his life to serve God and humanity.
“There is nothing in this world because all these things we are seeing are for the meantime.
The moment God commands death to take life, it takes it immediately”.
Bishop Bada extolled the virtues of late Mrs Olorunfemi and implored all her children, relatives and congregants to emulate her.
He stated that while death is an inescapable way to eternal life, the time and manner it would occur was unknown to human, hence human beings must live well when they are alive.
The man of God urged Christians to number their days because one day, we are going to where we come from.
He said that salvation is not inherited, but it is you that have to try your best. Your mother had done her part and has gone to join the saints.
We don’t pray for the death because they have gotten their rewards”.
Bada said,”late Eunice Olorunfemi was a good fruit because all the fruit that came out of her were good fruits. She lives a life that shows the goodness of God in anywhere she finds herself, and that is what means to live and die in Christ”
Speaking with The Focus Magazine, Mrs Olabimtan, one of the mana children described her mother as a woman of inestimable value who contributed to the success of her children.
” My late mother is a woman of inestimable value who contributed to the success of her children. A humble and simple woman, honest and hospitable. I will forever remember her”.
In his response, one of Mama inlaw, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan said, mama is an epitome of honest, dignity and integrity and a woman worthy of recognition.
Mama didn’t see me as an inlaw but as one of her children. She believed in God until the final call.
The Chairman of APC in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehim who was also at the event, described the late Mrs Eunice Olorunfemi as someone who was always interested in the welfare of people around him and someone who always spoke the truth to power.
Adetimehim, while speaking, said, “I have known mama for quite a number of years. He is someone who is always interested in the welfare of people around him. She believed in the development of human race.
It could be recalled that late Mrs. Eunice Olorunfemi was born nine decades ago to the family of late Alabi of Usenwa quarters of Supare Akoko.
She was unable to have elementary education because she lost her mother at a tender age and for that reason, she stayed with her cousin, Mama Momo at Oke- Ogboran quarters in Supare Akoko.
Due to the absent of Western education, she had to follow her father to the farm until she got married to the husband to her choice.
She came from a Muslim background but gave her life to Jesus Christ immediately she married her husband who is a lay reader in the church and was baptised.
Late Eunice Faulat Olorunfemi was a devoted Christian and a prayer warrior. She is a singer and no wonder all of her children were member of choir in their various churches they belong to.
She served Jesus Christ until she received the final calls.
She was a virtous and courageous woman, who had left a good legacy for others to follow. Her lifestyle is worth of emulation.
Her burial service was attended by distinguished personalities within and outside of the state.
