ENGR.ADEWUNMI- DENKI WIRE EMERGE NEW PRESIDENT NIGERIA. SHIPPERS ASSO.ONDO STATE*
Barely 72 hrs after ENGR.EMMANUEL O.ADEWUNMI,the Chairman/ CEO of Denki Cable Wire, Nig. Ltd emerged as the new President of the Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Shippers Association, NSA, Congratulations and Felicitations from across the globe by well-wishers still rent the air.
The election was held on last Thursday 2nd November, 2023 at Royal Bird Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure was conducted and adjudged as freest and fairest transition very unusual among Organised Private Sectors, OPS in recent time who usually engaged in transitional crises.
While highly respected and dedicated Denki Cable Wire Manufacturer, Engr.Adewunmi was elected President to lead other executives in piloting the affairs of Shippers Asso. in the next two years in Ondo State.
The others new exco members are
Pastor Adewunmi B. Adesote – Vice President, Mr. David A. Adeyanju – General Secretary., Mr. Samuel Kayode Odewusi -Assistant Secretary,Mr. Wale Oluwadare-Financial Secretary, Mrs R. Modupe Olakunle – Treasurer,Deacon Omolade Owoseni – Ex-Officio Member.
Engr. Adewunmi Popularly called BabaDenki Wire by his admirers in the private and business sector has already set the ball rolling leading other eminent member of his excos to deliver.
BabaDenki kick stated his tenure with action as he activate a crucial mobilisation drive for membership amongst guests immediately after their swearing-in.
In his acceptance speech, Engr. Adewunmi- BabaDenki gave assurance to both members of the Association and the State government that his tenure will witness a consolidation and strong collaboration so that everyone with benefit from the nascent Blue Economic Initiative of the Federal government.
The three fold event has in attendance the heavy weights and active stakeholders drawn from various critical segments of the economy who used the occasion to interact and share ideas.
Apart from members of the Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Shippers Association,NSA the Ondo State Government, ODSG was well represented by Commissioner of Commerce, industry and Cooperative Services, Hon. Akinwunmi Samson Sowore, and Barr.Tobi Ogunleye, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Transportation from the Ministry of Transport.
The Leadership of NSA from the South West Zone were led by Mr. Moses O. Fadipe, Director, S/West Zone of the Shippers’ Council, Mr John B. Agboola, Akure Area Officer of the Council, Mr kola Oganija, from the Ilorin Area Office,.
While Mr Eduje Victor, stand in for the Representative of the Area Coordinator of Ondo/Ekiti Controller of Custom among others.
The out going president of the Akure Shippers’ Association, Mr Kunle Ayoade in his welcome address gave account of his stewardship during his tenure and wish the incoming executives of the Association success in their tenure.
The NSC Zonal Director,Mr.Fadipe also gave a good account of himself as he did justice to the lecture paper catching the audience who listened with rasp attention.
The title of the Paper Presented was tagged:THE ROLE OF SHIPPERS ASSOCIATION IN MOVING THE STATE ECONOMY FORWARD
The Five-Man Panelists were Mr. Adefolaju Agunbiade, Manager, Bank of Agriculture,BOA, Akure, Mr. Folarin Tiamiyu, NEXIM Bank, Akure, Mr Joseph Edor from NAFDAC, Mr Eval John of the Standard Organization of Nigeria SON, Mr Eduje Victor from Nigeria Custom Services all added colours and value to the interactive sessions.
The last segment of the event was the election of the New Executive, where Mr J.B. Agboola and Mr Kola Oganija were the Returning Officers respectively.
