Bofoat Model Group of Schools Holds 3rd Mabel Quiz Competition
To mark his birthday anniversary, the Director of Studies of the Bofoat Model Group of Schools, Ugbe Akoko, Motunrayo Babalola has organized the third edition of the Mabel Quiz competition.
The event which took place at the school hall recently was attended by various secondary schools both private and public schools across the Ondo North Senatorial district.
In his welcome address, Motunrayo Babalola said, he was doing it to move education forward as well as to rebuild the falling in the standard of education.
He said,” The first edition of this Quiz competition started about three years ago. I’m not using it to celebrate my birthday alone but to use it to move education forward as well as to rebuild the falling standard of education in the country.
About twenty different schools participated in the first competition with six contesting representatives, besides four other supporting members to grace the occasion.
The quiz competition was set in the English language with a special reference to grammar, phonetics, semantics, and literature.
In the maiden edition, the first best three schools both from the senior and junior categories that were declared winners went home with a parting gift of cash.
In this year’s third edition more than thirty schools were in attendance”, he said.
Babalola congratulated the winning schools for honoring the school invitation to participate in the third edition of the Mabel Quiz Competition.
He said the fourth edition of the Mabel Quiz Competition will go around the three Senatorial districts of the state.
After the rigorous competition, three schools emerged from the junior and senior categories.
From the junior category, Freeman International Standard College, Ikare Akoko came first, Mary Hill College, Oka Akoko came second while Freeman International Standard College, Ikare Akoko came third.
In the senior category, Mary Hill College, Oka Akoko came first, Community High School, Ikaramu Akoko came second while Victory College, Ikare Akoko came third. All the schools go home with a cash prize.
