Oba Benjamin Omoleewo Celebrates One Year Coronation Anniversary
The first year coronation anniversary of HRH, Oba Benjamin Oluwafemi Omoleewo, the Elekun of Ilekun, in Akure South Local Government area of Ondo State, took place recently at his palace in Ilekun, with dignitaries within and outside the state came to celebrate with him.
This is first year anniversary that the kabiyesi received his instrument of appointment and staff of office.
Oba, Benjamin Oluwafemi Omoleewo, while appreciating God for making the day a reality said he had come to return all glory to God.
While particularly thanking the people of his community for their unalloyed support and commitment to the development of the community, also extended appreciation to all royal fathers who took time out of their tight schedule to join him in the celebration.
Oba Omoleewo, used the opportunity to thank the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his sterling leadership just as he prayed to God to grant him speedy recovery.
Oba Omoleewo said, when he became the Olu of Ilekun in the year 1983 to the year 2022, the house at Ilekun were few, as the places were forests.
” When I became the Olu of Ilekun in 1983 to 2022, the house at Ilekun were few as the places were forests. I have to call the elders and the people in the community that we needed to come together to do the layout of the community.
Immediately we finished the layout, people started to come and buy land and the community started to expand.”
Oba Omoleewo said he had recorded a lot of achievements since he assumed the throne of his forefathers.
” The health centre which was in my father’s house was very small, but by the grace of God, we built additional four rooms to it.
The transformer we were using then doesn’t work properly, with the help of my people, we bought another one.
Our former member of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Afe Olowookere and our able governor built us three blocks of classrooms each.”
On some of the problems encountered in the community, Oba Omoleewo called on the government by giving them a comprehensive health centre and a secondary school, as some of the children in the community going to private schools. Which some of the parents can’t afford.
The climax of the event came to and end on 17th December, 2023 with a special coronation thanksgiving and prayer sessions for the kabiyesi, members of his cabinet and his family.
