ONDO NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS’ REJOICES WITH EBENEZER ADENIYAN ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS GOVERNOR’S CPS The Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria Ondo State Council has felicitated with Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan on his appointment as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Ayedatiwa. In a press release made available to Journalists in Ondo State, the President of the Association, Prince Adefemi Ojopagogo described the new Chief Press Secretary as a highly cerebral journalist that knows his onions. Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan is an unassuming and uncompromising media guru that will carry all media practitioners along in Ondo State especially about the dessemination of news and information on the policies of Ondo State Government that are geared towards improving the livelihood of the good people of Ondo State. Prince Adefemi Ojopagogo appreciated the Governor of Ondo State His Excellency Lucky Ayedatiwa for appointing one of the home grown journalists as his Chief Press Secretary. He admonished the Chief Press Secretary to put his experience to bear while discharging his duty explaining that the grassroots newspaper publishers are ready to work with him in the task of discharging his duty effectively.

ONDO GOVT, WORLD BANK TO BUILD PRIMARY HEALTHCARE FACILITIES IN 203 WARDS.  – As Gov Aiyedatiwa presents Staff of Office to Ajana Afa-Okeagbe.  The government of Ondo State is going into a partnership with the World Bank to build facilities in 203 wards of the State to support primary healthcare delivery to the people at the grassroots.   The Governor of the State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, disclosed this development on Thursday during the presentation of Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Ajana Afa-Okeagbe Akoko, Oba Mofolorunso Adegboyega Arasanyin, at the Palace of Afa-Okeagbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area.   The Governor said the World Bank-sponsored project, which has the counterpart funding from the state government, will take healthcare delivery closer to rural dwellers and reduce pressure on secondary and tertiary   According to him, the new facilities in the 203 wards will complement the primary health centres across the 18 local government areas of the State.   Governor Aiyedatiwa added that the funds needed for the project have been deployed and contractors being assembled for the implementation stage.  This, he said, is in addition to other efforts to improve the health sector including the ongoing recruitment of health workers.  The Governor also reeled out some of the efforts of his administration including ongoing recruitment of teachers, support for farmers, enhancing security, improving infrastructure and promoting the welfare of workers.  Congratulating the people of the community on the peaceful selection of their new monarch, the Governor noted the historical importance of the Ajana stool, which became vacant following the passing of Oba Oladunjoye Fajana in February 2023.   “I commend the kingmakers for their sincere and invaluable roles in the emergence of the new monarch. This demonstrates their commitment to the welfare and development of Afa, Oke-Agbe.   “While we strive to promote and enhance the position of our traditional rulers, it is expected that the government’s efforts will be reciprocated through actions that support and complement our initiatives.”   Urging the new Ajana to use his position to foster unity, peace, and development within his domain, Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the significance of traditional institutions in mobilizing communities for positive development.  In his response, the newly installed Ajana Afa, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the governor and the State Executive Council for their support for his appointment as a “Grade A” Oba.   He described the appointment as a significant achievement and pledged to work collaboratively with the community to harness its cultural, social, and economic potentials.  Earlier in his remark, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Amidu Takuro, noted that the coronation ceremony was expedited due to the prompt and decisive actions of Governor Aiyedatiwa, whose intervention played a crucial role in the process.   In his goodwill message, Otunba Solomon Oladunni, the Asiwaju of Oke-Agbe, tthanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support in the selection process and its successful outcome, promising that the people of the community would mobilise and vote for the Governor in the coming election.  Otunba Oladunni and the Chairman of the Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, later hosted the Governor and his entourage to reception at their private residences at Oke-Agbe Akoko. Breaking News. Aiyedatiwa Nominates Adelami as Deputy Governor.   Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, mni hails from Owo. He is an administrator, philanthropist & politician  Former Deputy Clerk of Nigeria’s National Assembly. Co-Founder, Elizabeth Foundation.      PROFILE OF DEPUTY GOVERNOR NOMINEE   Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, mni hails from Owo, Ondo state. He was born over 6 decades ago to the family of Oluka Oribokun by Pa and Mrs Amos Adelami. Adelami graduated from the prestigious Imade College in Owo before proceeding to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for his GCE A level and University of Lagos for his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He further got an MBA degree from Ogun State University.  After the completion of the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in June 1983, young Adelami was enlisted into Federal Civil Service as an Accountant II in December, 1983. He resumed to the Treasury Department of the Accountant General of the Federation office and in 1988 he was later posted to the National Assembly Provisional Office, Abuja as one of the pioneer staff of the Constituent Assembly which metamorphosed into the present day National Assembly.  In the discharge of his duty, Adelami had the singular privilege of setting up the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly as we have come to know it. In 1996, he was invited to help in setting up the Accounts Department of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund. After completion of this tasks, he was also beckoned to serve at the Family Support Trust Fund where, again, he helped set up the Finance and Accounts Department. He headed these departments between 1996 and 2000. It is mention-worthy that the project of National Hospital, Abuja was executed and delivered during Adelami’s service period.  His sterling performances, years of experience and reputation as an astute manager of resources with enviable integrity saw Adelami being recalled to the National Assembly in 2000 to strengthen the Finance Department. Three years later, he was made the Head of the Finance and Accounts Department. He remained in this position till 2007 when he was confirmed as a Director. The following year, he was nominated for a one year senior management course at the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.  After the completion of his course at the Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies in 2008, he was assigned a bigger task of pioneering the newly created Department of Procurement and Supplies. Without a single trained staff in procurement processes, Adelami embarked on the rigorous process of staff training and nurtured the department to an enviable position. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of Secretary (Permanent Secretary), Directorate of Procurement, Estate and Works. A position he held until he was appointed as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly.  He remained the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
