In the journey of life, there are different groups of people traveling through the same roads with various destinations.
This group of people includes followers, on-lookers, movers, and shakers.
The followers are the set of people who don’t know the main aim of the race they are running. They listen to the noise on the road and they get distracted. They can be easily influenced by the decisions of others. Most of the time, this group doesn’t normally get to the peak of their careers.
Also, we have the on-lookers. These set of groups are indifferent, inactive, and run the vision of others instead of going on their own vision. They don’t look inward enough. They like to celebrate others’ achievements. Onlookers are also referred to as a spectator. They may not reach their targets on time. This kind of people are known to be onlookers and they can never be a leader.
The other category of the group are the movers and shakers. This set of groups has a vision and they know what they want and go for it. They make things happen. When they move, people move with them. They are the people of influence, and power and take responsibility in any situation they find themselves doing and they are born to be a leader. This last set of groups of movers and shakers is where late Otunba (Dr)Paul Akintelure belongs.
Late Otunba Dr.Paul Akintelure is a seasoned medical practitioner who was born in Igbotako in the Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State six decades ago.
He attended St. Anthony RCM Primary School and St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Omotosho Igbotako, Okitipupa for his primary school, where he sat for his Primary Six leaving certificate.
He also attended St. Louis Modern Commercial School, for his Modern Three Certificate, from where he proceeded to Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, Iju-Odo, where he sat for his West African Examination Council, and later attended Federal Government College, Odogbolu, for his A’ level.
Dr. Paul Akintelure proceeded to one of the prestigious Universities in Nigeria, ” The Premier University “, University of Ibadan, in Oyo State where he bagged his MBBS.
He worked as an Auxiliary Teacher at Libokun Comprehensive High School from 1980- 1981, and at General Hospital, Lagos from 1991-1992.
He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the European Union Medical Centre, Baale, Odeda, Abeokuta, Ogun State, between 1992 and 1993.
Today, he is the Medical Director, of Broad Clinic and Medical Director, of Broad Hospital, both in Lagos.
Otunba Dr. Paul Akintelure started his political career with the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), in the year 1981, was a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in 1992, a member of the Alliance For Democracy (AD), in 1999, and also Action Congress (AC).
He was the candidate for Ondo South Senatorial district, on the platform of Action Congress(AC) 2011. Deputy Governorship Candidate, with Governor Akeredolu, under the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) 2012. Governorship Candidate under the platform of All Progressive Congress, Ondo State (APC) 2016.
He was a member of the State Campaign Council, Ondo State, 2022, Secretary of the Okitipupa/ Irele Campaign Council, Director General, of Okitipupa Local Government Campaign Council, Secretary, of Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council Under Reconciliation and Regulation, and Member, Presidential Campaign and Council Under Logistics and Support.
In his extracurricular activities, Dr. Paul Akintelure was the Secretary of the Igbotako Union from 1977 to 1980. Pioneer President, Igbotako Vanguard, 2001-2004. Pioneer President, Igbotako Development Forum, 2004- 2011, and Member, Nigeria Medical Association.
Dr. Paul Akintelure is the Chief Executive Officer, of Broad Hotel Ltd. and chief Executive Officer, of Broad Ranch Ltd. Poultry, Pigs, Fish, Grasscutter, Rabbits, Quails, Vegetable, Fruits, and Feed mills. He is also the Managing Director, of Broad Hospital and Maternity Home.
He has received various awards which include, the Leadership Award, Professional Merit Award, Enduring Leadership Award, Distinct Professional Award, Peace Ambassador Award, Exceptional Leadership Award, from the Federation of Ikale Student Union, Grassroot Service Award, Leadership Award, Leadership and Communal Merit award, Yaba Lions Club, Individual Excellence Award and OCHSOA 81- 82 sets Honorary Membership Award.
Otunba (Dr)Paul Akintelure has attended various seminars, conferences, and workshops within and outside the country.
His hobbies include reading, politics, writing, and meeting.
He is a man of valour who has made his contributions to the development of mankind. He is diligent, hard-working, honest, and humane.
He is happily married to the wife of his choice and the marriage is blessed with wonderful children.
Until his death, he is one of the leading aspirants vying for Governorship position under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
He has left indelible mark on the sand of history. May your soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
