YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: SAKA MEETS OLAWANDE, SEEK FG SUPPORTS.
Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, on Thursday met with the Hon. Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon Ayodele Olawande in his office in Abuja, to discuss how the State will collaborate with Federal Government to foster an encompassing Youth development for the State.
Part of the discussion centered on Federal Government supports in the renovation of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare – Akoko, Youths empowerment through skills acquisitions to reduce unemployment and how the State Government can partner Federal Government in their various laudable programmes for Youth Development.
He thanked the Minister for his prompt attention and congratulate him on his appointment.
Responding, Hon Olawande pledged his continuous supports for the Youths in the state.
He talked on the need for Public Private Partnership ( PPP ) since government cannot do it alone.
Continue, on the issue of Youth empowerment, he said the Ondo State is Paramount on any Federal Government programmes and ready to site Youth Center in the State, that cooperation is important key to the development of Youths.
Speaking further, he called for stakeholders meeting , continuous partners and engagement of various Federal Government agencies that concern Youth.
In attendance are, Acting Permanent Secretary, Mrs Evelyn Lebi, General Manager Ondo State Sports Council, Mr Joseph Fagite, Director of Youth, Mrs Olukemi Okukpe, Director of planning, Research and Innovation, Mr Akin Kayode and Special Assistant to the Commissioner, Mrs Temitope Esther among others.
