AKOKO SOUTHWEST YOUTH FORUM AND AKOKO CONSULTATIVE FORUM PRAISED FOR SUCCESSFUL NULLIFICATION OF ILLEGAL LCDA CREATION BY ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT.
The Akoko Southwest Youth Forum, Akoko Consultative Forum, and their legal team led by Barrister Tolu Babaleye are being praised for their successful efforts in getting the High Court in Akure to nullify the creation of 33 illegal Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) by the Ondo State Government.
The High Court ruling is a major victory for the people of Ondo State most importantly the good people of Akoko nation who had long opposed the unlawful creation of these additional LCDAs without proper consultation. The Akoko Southwest Youth Forum and Akoko Consultative Forum, along with their legal representatives, mounted a strong challenge to the LCDA creation, arguing that it was unconstitutional and detrimental to the interests of local communities.
“This landmark ruling is a testament to the power of civic engagement and the rule of law,” said Barrister Tolu Babaleye, who led the legal team. “The people of Ondo State have spoken, and the High Court has upheld their right to have a say in the governance structures that affect their lives.”
The nullification of the 33 illegal LCDAs is expected to have far-reaching implications for the political and administrative landscape of Ondo State. It underscores the importance of transparency, accountability, and adherence to due process in the creation of local government structures.
