I’ll Solve Ayetoro Ocean Surge in One Year – Otunba Bamidele Akingboye
The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye has said, he will bring an end to ocean surge in oil rich community of Ayetoro in Ilaje Local Government, area of Ondo State, within his first year in office if voted into power.
He stated this while answering questions ahead of November 16th, governorship election in Ondo state.
Akingboye said, despite Ondo State being endowed with natural resources and human capital, the leadership over the years have run it aground with the state going into bankruptcy.
He stated that with his intimidating profile, he is ready to turn the fortune of the state around for good.
“I’m trained to do pollution control, dredging and shoreline control. This I have done for the past 35 years of my life.
If I am voted into power, as the governor of Ondo State, I will solved ocean surge problem at Ayetoro community.”,
“As far as I am concerned, there’s no barriers by the rulling All Progressive Congress (APC) that can stop me come November 16th.
I’m here to serve my people. I’m not a politician but a businessman coming in with my well over 20 years experience to serve.
“I’m into politics because I want to get a platform to serve. Many of these our leaders don’t have a second address. I have one”, he said.
On the readiness of his party to curtail the influence of vote buying in the coming elections, Akingboye said appropriate authorities mandated to do that job will be compelled to do so.
“Let them bring their money, our people will collect it and still vote for their conscience. Our people can no longer be fooled”.
“One thing you should know about Ondo State is that when we say, enough is enough, we mean they can’t take it any longer.
Our people will come out and vote en-mass for whom they want as a Governor”, he further stressed.
On whether he is ready to accept the outcome of the elections result, Akingboye said if the election process is free, fair and transparent, he will accept the results.
He assured further that within hours of being sworn-in as the governor of Ondo State, he will swing into action and work for the emancipation of the people.
He however used the opportunity to announce that by September 11th, 2024, he will officially receive leaders of the party and declare his mandate as the party’s flag bearer in the state.
“As far as far as I’m concerned, there’s no faction in SDP. All that happened in the past was to distract me”.
