DHDEI Seeks Strategic Partnership for the Upcoming Klean-Up Exercise in Akoko
The Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative hereby call for strategic partnership mobilization, working towards the just-announced KLEAN-UP AKOKO event on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024. This is an initiative against all environmental and community cleanliness issues; it focuses on Akungba-Akoko as the central hub of this project.
Meanwhile, in furtherance of the event, Toluwa-Jolomi visited the Akoko South West, Oka-Akoko command of the Federal Road Safety Corp yesterday to formally request their involvement. FRSC’s involvement has become necessary to ensure orderliness on the roads during the event, considering the heavy flow of traffic on the Akungba-Akoko major highway.
Representing FRSC at the meeting were David Awotile, Chief Route Commander, and Noah Kazeem, Superintendent Road Commander; they spoke on logistics and assured that the agency would do all it could to ensure that the roads were safe during the exercise.
Apparently in an effort to further cement local support, Toluwa-Jolomi met today with the leadership of Akungba Youth Forum. At the meeting, which was to garner support for the environmental initiative, the youth leadership present appreciated DHDEI’s reason for focusing on Akungba-Akoko out of several other towns that are in Akoko. They acknowledged its potential to better lives within the community and pledged full support towards ensuring the success of the event.
Present were the President, Barrister Femi Adeyemi; Secretary, Akin Demola; Assistant Secretary Ogungbemi Emmanuel; Treasurer, Olotu Victor; Welfare Officer, Babaleye Daniel. The Klean-Up Exercise will start at 7:00 a.m. from the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, opposite Oroke High School in Akungba-Akoko. It is one of those events that draw community leaders and volunteers together to organize themselves and work toward a cleaner and safer Akoko region.
