Ondo Speaker Oladiji Debunks Rumours, I Won My Polling Unit

Contrary to the rumour making the rounds in some online platforms that the Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt.Hon.(Chief) Olamide Oladiji failed to secure his polling unit for his Party, the All Progressive Congress (APC),the Speaker has described the news as malicious and false.

Reacting to the report, the Speaker described the news as a figment of the imagination of those peddling such rumors.

According to the statement personally signed by the Speaker and made available to the media today , he made it clear that his Sasere Unit 5, ward 9 and his Local Government,Ondo East was won for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in yesterday’s (Saturday) Gubernatorial election.

Oladiji warned political gladiators fanning such mischievous information to desist and instead concentrate on how to move the State forward.

The Speaker, therefore, called on the general public to disregard the fake report.

“My attention has been drawn to some sponsored reports circulating on some sections of the social media, claiming false voting figures from Sasere town, Unit 5, Ward 9 in Ondo East local government. In the concocted report, the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly,Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji was alleged to have lost this unit to the opposition-,a total fallacy and lie

I hereby clarify that the Rt. Hon Speaker,Oladiji Olamide won his Unit 5, Ward 9 of Ondo East LGA. The PDP garnered 61 votes while the APC scored 174 votes. The figures reeled are contained in the official INEC result sheet uploaded on the IREV database

“For the sake of the unsuspecting public,we again restate that Speaker Oladiji won his polling unit,Ward and LGA for the APC in yesterday’s gubernatorial election. The general public is advised to disregard any sponsored political hatchet job to the contrary pls.

“Apparently, this is the handiwork of the fifth columnists that are bent on spoiling my image ,but l would not be deterred nor distracted in contributing my quota to the development of my Constituency, the State, and Nigeria in general.

” I hereby assure the people of my Constituency and Ondo State that l would continue to maintain harmony among the people and drive development in the state”, he said.
