Atunto Movement called on FG to jettison the 1999 constitution.
Atunto Socio-Cultural Re-Awakening Foundation a.k.a “Western Region Organisation ” has urged the federal government to restructure Nigeria as a radical departure from the present unitary, wasteful, stagnated and mutually suspicious system of governance.
Speaking at a one day public lecture organised by the Civil Society and Human Rights Committee of ASUU, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) on 9 April 2025 at Akure, Victor Olatoyegun Coordinator of Atunto movement in Ondo State who is also the promoter of Liberty and Rights Advocacy Organisation called on federal government to restructure Nigeria.
He urged the people to join Atunto Movement in calling for the return back to 1963 constitution.
In the public lecture delivered by Prof. Debo Ajayi, titled, ” Civil Society and Human Rights Groups in the Threos of Sustainable Democrat Ethos in Nigeria”, Prof. Debo gave an historical account of the emergence of Civil Society Organisations and NGOs in the world and emphasized on the importance of CSOs and NGOs in shaping democracy.
The one day public lecture was attended by various CSOS, Trade Unions and NGOs across Ondo State.
