Woman Passes Loyalty Test By Waiting Faithfully For Husband Sentenced To 13 Years In Jail
A Kenyan woman, Mama Rita, has reunited with her husband who just regained his freedom after more than a decade of being incarcerated.
She passed a loyalty test by waiting for her hubby, Francis Mburugu, and staying faithful to him throughout the 13 years he was in prison.
Mburugu was found guilty of murder in 2010 and served his time in different prisons in Mombasa, Embu and meru.
In an interview with TUKO, Mama Rita admitted to how challenging life had been after her supportive husband was sent to jail.
“It was so tough, at some point, I wanted to terminate the pregnancy, but I was told there was no need. I used to lock myself in the house because I was stressed.
My firstborn was five years old, I was also pregnant when my husband left, and I didn’t know how to go about that situation. I nearly starved myself to death. I wasn’t eating, and I locked myself in the house crying every day,” she narrated.
According to the woman, she derived strength from the support her church and pastor provided as she patiently waited for her husband to be released.
“The church was very supportive, especially my pastor. Sometimes, when I went to visit my husband in prison, he would accompany me. He would encourage me and ask me to be patient, but at that time, I didn’t see myself pulling through,” she added.
Mama Rita expressed joy that she passed the loyalty test by staying faithful and celibate until her husband was freed from prison.
Meanwhile, the man was humbled by his wife’s character to remain faithful for all those years, as it showed she loved him deeply.
