SDP receives APC, DPM members ahead  of Ondo Governorship election to support Otunba Bamidele Akingboye   Some members of All Progressives Congress (APC)and  Democratic People Movement (DPM) in Ondo State have decided to dump their party’s to throw their weight  behind Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (Oba) as November 16 governorship election is gathering momentum in the state.  While welcoming them at the party Secretariat at Oyemekun Road, Akure, on Thursday, the State Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Barr. Gbenga Akinbuli said the deflectors are tired of the bad government being experienced in the state.  In his words:”We can see the large turn out of people coming forward to join our party, SDP in Ondo State, because our people’s can no longer be deceived by the   APC government in the state.   “Our expectations from the new members is that they should work hard from one unit to unit  to see that  SDP candidate win in their unit and at wards in the polls.   “Today apart from DPM we have other five groups, and this shows the confidence the people of Ondo State have in our candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (Oba).  “We must say that we are very happy to have them and we are still waiting for more people to come from the opposition parties.”  Also speaking with the The Focus Magazine, the leader of the DPM and Director General of the SDP candidate, Engr. Femi said that the purpose of their mass movement from APC to SDP was as a result of the failure of APC at the state level.  Engr. Felix pointed out that they came to SDP to work maximally for the success of Otunba Bamidele Akingboye stressing that he has been a man of substance from his youth.  He called on the people of Ondo State to support SDP before, during and after Governorship election,  saying that both PDP and APC had disappointed the state at one time or the other.  After their offical entry into the party they tore the membership cards of APC in their hands and were given SDP membership cards.
