Ondo : Ex-Deputy Governor Oluboyo Blasts Senator Ipinsagba Over Akoko Bye-Election
A former Deputy Governor of Ondo State Alhaji Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, has berated the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial Districtto, Pastor Jide Ipinsagba, for his lack of care attitude to not pick calls.
Describing the attitude of the Senator as “general phenomenon”, Oluboyo said “every sons and daughters of Ondo North senatorial district complains of you not picking their calls too.”
The former Deputy Governor made this know in an open letter addressed to the Senator on the forthcoming bye-election in Akoko North East and North West Federal Constituency.
The letter reads in full , “I decided to write this informal letter because of your deliberate and lack of care attitude to not pick my calls for the past one and half weeks. Although, I am not disappointed by this act (ignoring my calls) because it is a general phenomenon; every sons and daughters of Ondo North senatorial district complains of you not picking their calls too.
“I will like to draw your attention to your lackadaisical attitude of not taking the forthcoming bye-election into the position of National House of Representatives (Akoko North west Federal constituency) very serious.
“Your effort to pave way for BTO’s sole candidate to come victorious in the coming bye-election cannot be unnoticed.
” It is no more a secret as Bunmi Tunji Ojo (Honourable minister) claimed and said it openly to the whole world that he single handedly sponsored your campaign to the senate to the tune of six hundred and fifty million Naira (650,000,000). May I ask you if it is time to pay him back?
“Let me quickly remind you that the agitation for the slot of Rep.(MHR) is a collective request and demand of the people of Ikare as a matter of right based on principle of rotation between Akoko North east and Akoko North west. So, it cannot be jeopardized by a single soul.
“In line of this, I strictly advice you to toll the line of honor by reciprocating the communal effort of the people of Akoko North demonstrated during your electioneering campaign that led to your victory in becoming a distinguished Senator for the whole Nothern senatorial district.
“You will agree with me that if Ikare people (Akoko North east) handled your case the way you are handling this present bye-election, you won’t have become the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by now. If you do not think about your name, why don’t you think about what becomes the faith of your children in the nearest future. Again, if you do not think about your name and your children, why don’t you think about what people will say about your community (Odo) and the entire Ikado as a whole. Have you forgotten so soon? The efforts of our youth in (awa lo kan). These young guys have spent their time, energy, money on this project (MHR) that you are playing with.
“Yes, good turn deserves another. But you should not use our collective (Ikare) gain in politics to pay BTO who assisted you. You are advised to turn a new leaf by calling all the leaders, youth, and Akoko North east sons and daughters to a meeting and name your preferred and anointed candidate to them without wasting time since you are hiding under the excuse that the leaders haven’t meet, whereas you are the one delaying it.
“Finally, the election timetable is out for your information – I presume you do not know that the Party primaries/Resolution of dispute arisen from the primary is scheduled for 5th-9th January while campaigns ends 1st of February, still you kept quiet. I wonder why you as a Senator is behaving as if you are not aware of these happenings. Hence, I have jumped to the conclusion that you want to use our slot to pay Bunmi Ojo’s assistance rendered to you during your electioneering campaign. If you do that, you will pay dearly for it politically.
“However, after 24 hours without you attending to the content of this letter, I will take the responsibility of calling meeting of the Akoko North leaders to address the issue of candidate.”
