Buhari Damage For 8 yrs Would Take 80 yrs To Correct– Ughegbe
Journalist Lemmy Ughegbe has criticized the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that it will take eighty years to rectify the damage caused during his eight-year tenure.
Ughegbe commented, “We want to put Buhari behind us. Unfortunately, the damage he inflicted on Nigeria in eight years will require eighty years to rectify.”
In an interview in a video (1:14:30) on Kakaaki, an AIT Television program, he implied that Buhari’s administration might be the worst since Nigeria’s return to democracy. He made this suggestion while highlighting the extensive damages done during the former President’s tenure. He cited examples like former Aviation Minister Senator Hadi Sirika’s significant expenditure on designing a logo for Nigeria Air and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele’s purchase of SUVs to support his presidential ambition under Buhari. Ughegbe also noted that corruption rates were high during Buhari’s time in office.
Ughegbe contended that Buhari did not effectively combat corruption but instead eased the struggles of his allies. He pointed out that even recharge card sellers became billionaires during Buhari’s tenure.Buhari
