I OWE NOBODY APOLOGY AS I CANNOT INHERIT ANYBODY’S ENEMY: Tolu Babaleye Esq Warns Akeredolu’s CPS
My dearest People of Ondo State, my attention has been drawn to a news item planted by CPS to Mr. Governor Richard Olabode Olatunde, a coward of 100 degree using fictitious name in Daily Independent online newspaper of 14th September, 2023 tagging me as one of the recruits of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State to coordinate media attack against the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
This is an insult against my person and reputation because whoever knows me will know that I always take full responsibility for whatever I do and I do not run anybody’s race. I don’t work in cahoots, I do whatever I do with conscience and openness and can never wish anyone bad.
I believe that this is the reason God is promoting me and I appreciate God for his blessings. I challenge Richard Olatunde to bring out one media attack that I made against Aketi in the last 2 years or forever keep quiet.
In the first place, I would have ignored the ranting of the failed CPS who does not know his job because of what happened to me earlier in the day but doing so would have dignified his frustration expressed in the write up in the planted story as the truth.
I wish to humbly reply the cowardly CPS who is an all round failure but who has been kept in the job on the bill of Ondo State because of Nepotism in the following terms: –
In the first place, I am not a journalist and there is no way I would have been recruited to coordinate media attack to for anyone. I do not know the Deputy Governor on one on one and the whole of Ondo State know what I am capable of doing except those who wants to be mischievous like the failed CPS who is a mere copy and paste journalists but found himself in the corridor of power due to accident of geography and birth.
I do not blame the CPS for dropping my name but the Governor that appointed him based on Nepotism and not competence or track record. Who is the CPS? This was a boy that was a mere freelance journalist covering our activities in 2012 and 2016 during the struggle to make Aketi Governor.
I was the Northern Senatorial District Security Coordinator for ACN/Aketi ticket for Governor in 2012 and I worked directly with Femi Adekanmbi, Alasoadura, Abena and Sen. Boroffice here was the CPS then? In 2016, I convene Movement Against Imposition and recruited members across Ondo State and that made it possible for Aketi to emerge as the APC candidate in 2016 after we resisted imposition and I was picking the bills including journalist brown envelope, hotel accommodation and payment for meeting space at Royal Park – Lane, the owner of the hotel is still alive today and he is a ranking member of House of Representatives, Ade Adetimehin the APC State Chairman is still alive, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, Barr. Tobi Ogunleye, Hon. Boye Ologbese, Pat the Southwest APC Youth Leader, Gani Muhammed Ajowa, Auntie Dupe Adetuwo etc who were and some are still part of this government and are all still alive.
Where was the CPS then? He was one of the copy and paste journalists I was giving brown envelope to push our stories in the media then as a worker with one obscure and unknown local FM station at Ilesha working with OND after finishing his IT with that station but he now has the audacity to be dropping my name just because APC reward system was faulty as his appointment was not based on contribution or merit but his appointment was based on nepotism. Obe tutu tan, adete un yo owo.
I make bold to say that I was the only person that criticised former Governor Mimiko for 8 years consistently in Ondo State and refused to be compromised and nobody in or outside Ondo State can claim that he gave me a dime or call me to write against Dr. Mimiko who also did not for once attack me or send anyone to attack me with pseudo name or my property for once based on my criticism.
(I have been harassed many times by this government despite that it is my government). When I was criticising Dr. Mimiko, was it Aketi who was looking for how to send him parking that sent me? I want the CPS who is now behaving like a complete sycophant to answer that question.
I don’t know why the CPS is dropping my name but I think it must have had to do with my timely article written to warn the kitchen cabinet of Aketi to allow the Deputy Governor to function as Acting Governor based on the letter of temporary handover transmitted to the House of Assembly when Aketi was on medical leave.
I wish to state that I never targeted my article against Aketi or Ayedatiwa but the system and my article was based purely on the Constitution of Nigeria which is the instrument of our social contract and for the good of the people of Ondo State who only voted for Aketi and Ayedatiwa in a joint ticket and not any kitchen cabinet that took our dear State by the jugular at that time. The people of Ondo State had become rudderless when I wrote my article and I have no apology for writing what I wrote and I stand with that article till date as I take full responsibility for saying my mind.
The goodwill of the people of Ondo State and the wide acceptability of that timely article that went viral surpassed the ranting of a few cabal led by this coward of a CPS that were not happy that I could stand against their shenanigans.
I do not wish to prolong this response for now but let me sound this note of warning that I should be allowed to be. I have looked away from the State not because everything was ok but because Aketi’s health is in issue and wouldn’t like to add to his BP with my criticisms but if Richard should press me further, I might resume.
I am a citizen of Ondo State and no one can intimidate me and stop me from saying my mind within the ambit of the Law. I do not want to be dragged into any controversy as I am still mourning my loyal friend of all seasons Hon. Ajulo James Tolorunju who died this morning. I do not also wish to drag the name of Aketi as I have a lot of respect for him, I want him to recover in peace and rest of mind to concentrate on the affairs of the State as I wish him quick recovery but if this sycophant of a CPS who can only perform only when the Governor is in town but cannot turn things around when the Governor was away is not called to order, I may be forced to go back to the trenches.
For the umpteenth time, I have nothing to do with the Deputy Governor, I am not his recruit and I do not consult for him but the Deputy Governor is equally not my enemy just like Aketi is not my enemy but my Governor whom I worked for assiduously when most of those in power now were only watching us from the sides and planting our stories on receipt of our brown envelopes. I CANNOT INHERIT ANYBODY’S ENEMY. Ki elegbe o mo egbe e, igi imu jina sori o. Aguda ko je labe Geesi o, let me be!
