We Must Loose The Bonds Of Our Unrighteousness —Pastor Odekunle
Christians have been urged to remove the bonds of unrighteousness in their hands.
Speaking during his morning radio program, the Senior Pastor of Comfort Life Mission International, Ibadan, Pastor Odekunle Epaphras said, the reason why some Christians fasted and prayed without answers was due to their failure to lose the bonds of unrighteousness.
Pastor Odekunle who quoted from the book of Isaiah said, “Cry aloud, spare not. Lift your voice like a trumpet.
Tell my people their transgression and the house of Jacob their sins.
Yet they seek Me daily and delight to know My ways as a nation that did righteousness and didn’t forsake the ordinance of their God.
They ask of Me the ordinances of justice and they delight in approaching God.
Why have we fasted, they say, and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls and You take no notice?
In fact, on the day of your fast, you find pleasure and exploit all your laborers.
Indeed you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness.
You will not fast as you are today. To make your voice heard on high. Is it a fast that l have chosen?
A day for a man to afflict his soul is to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread out sackcloth and ashes.
Would you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord”.
He said the fast that God chose for us is for us to afflict our soul, to bow down our head like a bulrush, and to spread out our sackcloth and ashes.
Pastor Odekunle Epaphras said, “The fast that God chose for us is to lose the bonds of our unrighteousness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke”.
He added “Today we moved from one mountain to another with fasting and prayers to seek God’s face, yet we could not receive an answer.
“We moved from one Church to another Church to seek the face of God, yet we could not find Him.
“We moved from one wilderness to another wilderness to seek His face, yet we couldn’t see Him.
“Why? Because we failed to loose the bonds of our unrighteousness and the bond of sins that is in our hands.
“God cannot listen to you unless you confess your sin. The eyes of God are bitter against the sinners.
“A lot of us committed sins when we were adults without knowing its implications which are now affecting our destiny today.
“In those days, they shall say no more and the fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his iniquity and every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge”.
He further added that some of the problems facing us today are linked to witches and wizards not knowing fully well that it is what we did in the past that is hunting us.
We need to think deeply to know where we made a mistake and ask God to forgive us.
Our Lord is merciful and He is ready to forgive us. The Lord’s hand is not shortened that it can not save nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear but our iniquities have separated us from our God.
