Evang. Kofoworola Ashimolowo Urges Women’s To Fear God
The wife of the presiding Pastor of St. James African Church, Akungba Akoko, Evang. Kofoworola Ashimolowo has urged women to fear God.
In her sermon during this year’s Mother’s Day, Evang. Ashimolowo said women must fear God. By doing so, they were going to inherit the kingdom of God.
Evang. Ashimolowo who picked her sermon from the book of Exodus chapter 1 verse 15-20, explained how king pharaoh gave order to the Hebrew Midwives to kill all the male sons, except only female should live.
She said,” The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew Midwives when you do the duties of a Midwife for the Hebrew women, and if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.
But the Midwives feared God and didn’t do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the males children alive”.
As a human being, do we fear our Creator? Are we not fearing human beings? Who is worthy to be feared between our Creator and human being? We must fear our God. By doing so, we’re going to inherit the kingdom of God”.
Evang. Ashimolowo stated further that, we have a lot of women in the Bible who fear God, and till today their names are not forgotten, and at the same, we have the bad ones that can not be forgotten.
She advised women to give respect to their husbands because they are the head of the house.
She said, “Wives, submit to your husband, as to Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as also Christ is the head of the church and He is the Saviour of the body.
Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their husbands in everything, she concluded.
