Today is a glorious day in our family–Eniayedun
The family of Eniayedun in Isolo quarter, Ikun Akoko, has said this year’s Ihare ceremony was one of the happiest days in their lives as one of them is among those who graduated to Ihare.
Speaking with The Focus Magazine at Ikun Akoko, one of the heirs of the Eniayedun family, Pastor Kehinde Jeremiah Eniayedun, said, “The children of Eniayedun see today as a glorious day in their lives, as we can never forget it.
We thank God for allowing us to witness today’s ceremony because neither our father nor mother witnessed it during their life time.
We, the children, have been praying to God to spare our lives so that we can attain the age at which Ihare is being celebrated, and whoever sees this day is like he has fulfilled his life.
Unfortunately, our parents were unable to witness it. For this reason, we, the children, have been praying to God to help us in breaking the jinx.
We thank God that He has given us the grace to allow the second child of the Eniayedun family to be among of the Ihare. The new Ihare is the Bobajiro of Ikun Akoko. So, today’s Ihare ceremony is very unique to our family “, he said.
Pastor Eniayedun advised sons and daughters of Isolo quarter who are in the diaspora to put their resources together for the development of their quarter. They should embark on a project that will benefit the lives of the people.
In his tributes, an in-law to the family, John Olaniyan, said he was joyful that he was among those dignitaries who witnessed this year’s Ihare ceremony.
He said the ceremony was beautiful and lively. He promised to introduce it into his hometown in Kwara State.
Olaniyan called on the new Ihare to cooperate in developing the quarter. Although they have known each other, what they need is cooperation.
