2024: ILAJE PDP LEADERS DECAMP TO APC, ENDORSE GOV AIYEDATIWA – Ex Commissioner Lebi Adepiti, ex-OSOPADEC chairman Debo Ajimuda, LG, Ward officers collapse opposition in Ilaje The backbone of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State suffered a fracture on Wednesday as leaders of the party announced their departure from the party ahead of the November governorship election in the State. The PDP leaders, led by former Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Lebi Adepiti, and former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Debo Ajimuda, decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). During a visit to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in his office in Akure, preparatory to their open declaration, the PDP leaders said their decision to join the APC was hinged on their interest in supporting the Governor in the next election. The decampees also included former political office holders at State and local government levels, as well as local government and ward officers of the PDP in Ilaje Constituency 1 and Constituency 2. Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Adepiti stated their commitment to mobilising support for Governor Aiyedatiwa in Ilaje and its environs ahead of the coming governorship election. He said: “We are committed to supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa out of our own free will. We recognize his strong performance since he became governor and we believe in standing by our brother rather than seeking alternatives. “We believe it is our duty as brothers to unite with him and advance the State. The PDP no longer exists in Ilaje local government. Our ward executives, members, women leaders, councillors, and supervisors are all committed to the Aiyedatiwa project. We are ready for APC, we are ready to work for you.” Prince Debo Ajimuda, on his part, praised Governor Aiyedatiwa as a determined leader and requested an enabling environment for the decampees to mobilize more grassroots support ahead of the election. The State Chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, who welcomed the new members into the party, promised to support their official decamping ceremony. He stressed that the APC does not discriminate as all members would be given a level playing field. Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude for their decision to join the APC and support his campaign, describing it as a strong indication of Ilaje people’s solidarity with him. The Governor assured the new members that they would retain their leadership roles within the APC, reflecting their positions in the former party. Promising inclusive participation, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the new members would not be marginalized but would enjoy the benefits and opportunities within the APC. Those in attendance included the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, and other top government officials. Gov. Adeleke begins payment of salary to Iyalojas accross all Local government in Osun. The Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke in collaboration with the Chairmen across all the Local government in the state has commenced payment of salary to market women across every local government in Osun State. This is just as the market women across the State, who gathered at the conference hall of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, applauded the gesture, saying it was the first of its kind. According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Market Affairs, Chief Mrs Grace Eniola Omotoso, who supervised the E- payment of the funds across various markets in our local  government to the Iyalojas, the State government has fulfilled its promises to the market women. According to her, “the administration of our amiable Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has proven without doubts, that it is a talk-and-do government for all”. “Against all odds, His Excellency, in conjunction with the Local Government Caretaker Committees across the State has commenced monthly allowances for all our Iyalojas across the State”. “This is unprecedented in the history of Osun State market women and it serves as an encouragement to all that dividends of democracy will not elude anyone, in the nooks and crannies of Osun State”, she said. In her words, on behalf of all the market women, the Iyaloja-General of Osun State, Chief Mrs Mary Oyebode appreciated the government and all our able caretaker chairmen in all Local governments of Osun State and pledged continue support for the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Award For The Dualization of Ore-Ondo-Akure Road and Benin- Akure- Ilesa Road, a recipe for investment opportunities and economic development of Ondo State – Moyosola Niran- Oladunni The Converner of Kalesanwa Socio-Political Group and former governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Moyosola Niran-Oladunni has said the recent approval for the Dualization of Ore-Ondo-Akure Road and Benin-Akure- Ilesa Road by the federal government is a great recipe for rapid investment opportunities and development of Ondo State. The former aspirant applauded the federal government for approving the road projects. Speaking with The Focus Magazine, Oladunni said this opportunity will allow investors to come and invest in the state. The state has abundant resources, which are begging for attention. ” Oladunni stated further that, for any investor to come and establish industry in any state or country, there must be access to good roads for the transportation of their goods and services. He thanked the federal government for counting Ondo State among the states that benefit from the projects. It could be recalled recently that after the Federal Executive Council meeting, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved 13 road projects in various states across the country worth about #1.455tn, which includes two major roads in Ondo State. The two roads are Benin-Akure – Ilesa Road, a 3ookm concrete pavement dual carriageway with a contract sum of #525bn, awarded to HiTech Construction, Benin-Akure, by Ilesa (section 2). The second road is Ore-Ondo-Akure road, which is under special intervention due to flooding. It is 24 months long and has a total contract sum of #134bn. It was awarded to CBC Nigeria Limited, which will use concrete because of the terrain.
